Best Gay Romance Series

Best Gay Romance 2009

Men at Their Most Passionate

Best Gay Romance 2009 is short fiction at its finest on the subject of love—first love, true love, and love everlasting (with makeup sex, wake-up sex, and everything in between).

The romantic possibilities range from a surprising encounter between two blue-collar buddies to a brief airport rendezvous that becomes something more, and a reminder to us all that it is never too late for love. A self-confessed true romantic, Richard Labonté has gathered a sensational collection of stories about finding love at home, at work, at any age, and often, in the most unexpected places.

"Labonte assembles as fine a collection of stories focused on male-to-male relationships as you’re likely to find. A big plus: the writing is top-notch." —EDGEBoston

Praise for previous editions:

"Whether you like the notion of happily ever after, or happily for now, Best Gay Romance offers a good variety of stories that gives readers a sweet taste of love between men." —Erotica Readers and Writers Association

"It's sweet and (surprise!) incredibly satisfying." —Instinct

"Because this collection involves you in the emotional psychology of the characters, there's a more erotic dimension to the drama, and more satisfaction in seeing it played out." —Boyz

RICHARD LABONTE lives some of the time in a wee Perth, Ontario apartment, and some of the time in a sprawling 10-bedroom farmhouse on 200 acres of land near Calabogie, Ontario. From 1979 to 2000, he helped found and then managed A Different Light Bookstores in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. He has edited the Best Gay Erotica series since 1996; reviews 100 books a year for Q Syndicate, which distributes his fortnightly column “Book Marks”; writes the newsletter Books to Watch Out For/Gay Men's Edition; and writes book reviews for Publishers Weekly. Husband Asa and canines Percy and Zak are his constant companions.
